Revamping Our Estate Standards: A Journey with Our Residents

At Housing Solutions, we believe in creating a community where everyone feels heard and valued. That's why we  embarked on an exciting journey to revamp our estate standards, and we couldn't have done it without you!

Our Adventure Begins…

We started by chatting with a bunch of amazing people – from internal and external stakeholders to our wonderful residents. We asked some big questions like, "What extra would you like to see as standard?" and "How would you rate what we do – good or bad?" The responses were eye-opening and super helpful!

Meeting the Residents:

  • Sheltered Housing: We visited Jakes House, Neve Housing, and Maudsley House and got feedback from lots of residents.
  • Care Provider: We had insightful conversations with Fremantle.
  • Coffee Mornings: We enjoyed coffee and chats with around dozens of residents.
  • Estates Panel: Our dedicated panel of 6 members shared their thoughts and feedback.
  • Estate Walkabouts: We interacted with about 20 residents during our walkabouts.

What We Discovered:

The main issue wasn't the standards themselves but how visible and clear they were. So, we decided to give our standards a fresh new look. We created a handy booklet and poster to display on the estates, making everything crystal clear.

Introducing the New Inspection Guide:

We also revamped our inspection process with a photo reference guide. Now, areas like bins, hallways, stairs, grass, and windows are categorized as Gold, Silver, or Bronze. Our goal? Always aim for Gold! 🌟

Transparency is Key:

We’re all about being open and transparent. That's why our new standards will be displayed in communal areas and on our website. Plus, we’re addressing maintenance concerns with initiatives like a small painting program.

Positive Vibes All Around:

We went back to our residents to share the new standards and our plans. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive! Everyone appreciated our openness and the improvements we’re making.
