Why does work need to be done to Evenlode?

  • Cladding regulations

There have been several significant changes to cladding regulations for high-rise buildings in recent years, primarily driven by the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017.

  • The Fire Safety Act 2021
The Fire Safety Act 2021, which commenced on 16 May 2022 puts beyond doubt that the structure of external walls falls in the scope of the Fire Safety Order and as such we must assess our blocks to understand if further investigation of the external walls is required. As part of these changes we assessed the materials to the external walls through a PAS9980 survey.
  • Refurbishment project
The scheme was originally built in the 1960’s and comprises of seven linked blocks, each three storeys high. The homes suffered from poorly insulated external walls, leading to challenges regarding heating of the individual homes.  As a result we commissioned a refurbishment project to overclad the blocks with several different external wall systems to improve the insulation and appearance.
